Installation instructions for MovieFS.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Installing MovieFS:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1) Double click !SparkPlug to load it.
2) Double click the Codecs archive. A new filer window should appear.
3) Now find !ARMovie (NOT !ARPlayer) (On a Risc PC, this will be in
!Boot.Resources)
4) Open !ARMovie by shift-double clicking it.
5) Drag the contents of the 'Codecs' archive into ARMovie.
MovieFS is now installed, and can be run in the normal way by double
clicking.
If you have a CD ROM drive, then you will probably want to consider
installing !CD_Type from inside the FileTypes application. This will allow
you to play films direct from the CD. To do this:
1) Ensure SparkPlug is still loaded. If not, load it again.
2) Double click the FileTypes archive. A new filer window should appear.
3) Drag the !CD_Type application somewhere where it will be run in your boot
sequence. (On the RISC PC, !Boot.Choices.Boot.Tasks is a good place.)
Troubleshooting
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you get errors of the form "Can't find DecompConverted" when you try to
run film clips, this is because of a bug in early versions of Replay. The
solution to this is to obtain a more up to date copy.
If double clicking a film has no visible effect, then try shift-double
clicking the film instead. Errors will then be displayed in a box on the
screen, and can be reported to us. "Malformed Chunk" or "NotRecognised"
errors suggest a corruption in the file, or an attempt to read unknown
formats.
If double clicking a film produces an error from the Filer saying that no
application that runs files of this type has yet been seen, ensure that
Replay has been seen by the filer.
Any other problems, then please do not hesitate to get in touch with us on
(0585) 487642, and we will do our best to help out.
Installing PlayAVI:
2) Double-click the PlayAVI archive. A filer window should appear.
3) Drag PlayAVI from this window onto your harddisc.
